Own Legendary Designer Paul Rand's Midcentury Home For $895K
For the first time in history, the award-winning home of iconic art director and graphic designer Paul Rand hits the market in Weston, Connecticut.
Acclaimed for his modernist influences, Paul Rand, who created corporate logo designs for companies such as IBM, UPS, and ABC, designed the home in 1953 with Ann Binkley, his wife at that time. Binkley, who had studied under Mies van der Rohe, initially hired Marcel Breuer to design the home, but wasn’t quite satisfied with his work so she decided to finish the project on her own. With the help of Rand, the home went on to be recognized as one of the "10 Best Houses of 1953" by Interiors Magazine upon completion. Now, the historic property with a bonafide modernist pedigree is being listed for $895,000. Scroll through for a look inside.
Set on a 7.7-acre lot, the 3,400-square-foot residence is both spacious and compact with a natural flagstone facade and black-stained cedar framing.
