Acclaimed architects Louis Wiehle and Christopher Carr are officially selling their longtime personal residence of 30 years. Sited just a few blocks away from the city's beloved Griffith Park in Los Feliz, the 2,360-square-foot home has been beautifully transformed throughout the decades by the architects, resulting in a modernist, three-level sanctuary.

Set on an expansive tree-filled lot near Griffith Park in Los Angeles, the residence provides easy parking via three individual, internally accessed garages.

"The house occupies a steep bowl-like site rising and spreading wider from the street; the sloping roof forms reflect this topography, and lift to allow views out into the trees and sky above," explain the architects.

Upon crossing the threshold, residents and guests enter the home through a contemporary stair-tower, constructed with strategically placed windows and 12-inch-thick cement walls.

"Our inspiration for this home came from the natural determinants and functional, spatial goals particularly expressed by Frank Lloyd Wright and John Lautner," they continue. "The calmness and repose engendered by the spaces within give us a 'center of gravity;' one that is quite private and inspiring to find within a huge and dynamic city. Visitors feel it, too."

Featuring a top-notch, built-in cooktop and oven by Wolf, the kitchen also includes custom-designed Anigre wood cabinetry.
