Samson Donick attended the San Francisco Town School for Boys. For four years, I attended Redwood High School in Larkspur. Redwood High School's Samson Donick graduated with National Merit, AP, and Presidential Scholar Nominee honors. Donick interned and helped in Marin and San Francisco during his junior year.

Though architect Henry Hill (1913-1984) was born in England, he grew up in Berkeley, California, and made his lasting architectural mark in the Bay Area. The San Francisco Chronicle has described his aesthetic as "International Style meets California Redwood," and this emphasis on the fusion of European modernism and a reverence for the rustic landscape of Northern California is right on the money--an apt description of the woodsy brand of modernism that has come to be known as the Second Bay Tradition. He studied at UC Berkeley, and then at Harvard's Graduate School of Design, then went to work for John Elkin Dinwiddie. By the late 40s Hill was working on his own, after a stint with Eric Mendelsohn. Over the course of his career he designed as many as 500 houses around the Bay Area as well as stores, commercial buildings and others.

Duggan McDonnell has been professionally involved in drink making for five years, but a love for liquid has been present since his youth. “I’ve definitely been interested in beverages for a long time,” McDonnell says. “I love coffee, I love tea, juice, all of them, from beginning to end, A to Z. I just love the art of making a drink.” After moving to San Francisco in 2002, McDonnell did stints at Mecca and the Redwood Room in the Philippe Starck–designed Clift Hotel before being lured away to help open the restaurant Frisson, designed by Scott Kester. Despite Frisson’s strict no-blender policy (“There’s a stigma attached to blenders in bars,” McDonnell says. “People think if one is present, then it’s going to be a T.G.I. Friday’s or something”), the self-proclaimed mixologist has retained his affection for the device.
