Fashion Icon Betsey Johnson Lists Her Hot Pink Mobile Home in Malibu for $1.9M

Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2016, legendary fashion designer Betsey Johnson has called this bohemian oasis home.

Set on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu’s Paradise Cove Mobile Home Park (dubbed by the New York Times as "America's most glamorous trailer park"), Betsey Johnson's hot pink mobile home stands out as a reflection of the eclectic fashion legend herself. Known for her (now-defunct) punk-meets-Barbie-esque womenswear collection and for cartwheeling down the runway, Johnson custom designed this whimsical home herself. Now, though, she's letting this beach-front oasis go, recently listing it for a cool $1,950,000.

Replete with all the elements of her eccentric fashion collection, the two-bedroom, two-bath home features an airy, double-sized master bedroom that Johnson refers to as "The Yellow Room", as well as a second bedroom painted a bright shade of eggshell blue. The living room—currently displaying a colorful mix of Johnson's collection of artwork, books, and tchotchkes—features tongue-and-groove ceilings, hardwood floors, clerestory windows, and a skylight to filter an additional source of natural light into the narrow living space. There are also two updated bathrooms.

The lush backyard features tropical landscaping, a soaking tub, a covered wood deck, and "multiple entertaining areas" including a secret garden-style, pergola-covered outdoor living room. There is also a little wood shack tucked between the banana trees that is currently used as storage but has the potential to be a meditation or yoga studio. The Paradise Cove community is home to approximately 260 other mobile homes and offers 24-hour, guard-gated entry, a community tennis court, beach access, and a clubhouse—plus a monthly HOA fee of $2,705.
