    Vermont is a beautiful state with lush landscaping, pristine colleges and schools and plenty to see and do. Unfortunately, despite the beauty of the state, thousands of residents fall victim to the strongholds of drug addiction and cannot see past the daily use of drugs without help. Vermont drug rehabilitation centers provide care to many of those who are addicted to drugs but there is still a gap that leaves many addicted individuals and their families in need of additional help.http://vermontdrugrehab.com/

    McLeod Kredell Architects is a studio built around the practice, teaching, and community engagement of architecture. We believe that architecture grows out of its particular place and time--yet at its best it also transcends those limits. John McLeod and Steve Kredell have been collaborating since graduate architecture school in the mid-90s. Both are licensed Architects and LEED Accredited Professionals. They practiced with firms in New York, Pittsburgh, Switzerland, and Vermont before opening their own office. John is a visiting professor of architecture at Middlebury College and Steve teaches in Norwich University's School of Architecture. Both principals team up each year with Jonathan Marvel to lead the Bear Island Design Assembly with students in Maine. Combining teaching with practicing, MKA focuses on the search for appropriate local expressions of universal qualities and ideals.
  • John Dockendorf
    @johndockendorf
    John Dockendorf came into the world in December 1959. He spent his first years growing up near Baltimore, Maryland, but eventually Dockendorf would find himself having a bigger impact elsewhere. Like many growing up in the Middle Atlantic states, education, was important and after a rigorous education at friend’s school, he packed his skis and headed for the university of Vermont. Dockendorf first started making an impression early during his first years in college. Spending the end of the 1970s burning through various classes in university, he graduated in 1981 with top grades from the University of Vermont. Seeking roles and pathways in recreation and park management, Dockendorf chased paths like many, and found himself assistant positions for various professors. This led to his pursuit of graduate studies in the same field, and by the next decade Dockendorf had achieved a Master of Management, Hospitality from Cornell University, and the School of Hotel Administration in 1992. Again, Dockendorf achieved top of his class, and he was also the John E.H. Sherry Scholarship as well as student body president at Cornell in his discipline’s school.

  • Loop
    @loop
    The structure of the built environment and the curve of the natural world. The hum of urban life and the melody of rural living. Patterns of form, shape and texture revealed and reveled in. Loop connects a love of modern design with an appreciation for nature. By creating useful art in a way that respects our planet’s resources, Loop acknowledges the connection between people and the planet. Our natural world provides endless inspiration but has finite resources; we enjoy its diversity and we love giving back. This is our loop, our responsibility, our pleasure. The true beginning of this tale is at a New England rivers’ edge when a young girl named Elissa found the most remarkable thing - a polliwog nest among the pulpy oak leaves and mossy rocks where water greeted land. She gazed upon this unknown thing - alive, to be sure, she could sense it - and saw inside it a universe. She made a place for this wonder, this image, in her mind. As she grew, it began to inform the way she looked at the world, its surfaces and patterns, its textures and creatures. Imbued with the sensibilities of the Vermont countryside, Elissa sought adventure after high school, working and travelling through Europe before studying Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. After college, she joined the studio of a modern architect (wesley wei) and then went to work for bulthaup designing bauhaus-inspired custom kitchens. Loop was born of Elissa’s desire to unite her working life with her creative life. Seeking balance and flexibility in her day-to-day schedule, starting Loop helped Elissa reconfigure the map of her dreams. Loop is a lens that focuses observation, travel, contemplation, discovery and passion into products that Elissa feels good about sharing - products that lay bare their inspiration from nature while revealing their contribution to caring for it.

Robert earned his Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University, and has completed graduate work in Architecture at University of California (Los Angeles), as well as graduate work in Sculpture at Tyler School of Art, Temple University (Philadelphia). He has exhibited widely across the United States, particularly along the east coast, and has had several one-person shows, most notable and recent of which were at bahdeebahdu in Philadelphia, PA, Lawrence Gallery of Rosemont College in Bryn Mawr, PA, and the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE. Robert’s work has been included in several private collections and public institutions, and he has participated in several residencies such as the Directors Workshop Residency in Spoleto, Italy, the Vermont Studio Center, and the BAU Institute in Otranto, Italy. Robert has been an active member of several artist organizations in Philadelphia, including InLiquid, Da Vinci Art Alliance, Center for Emerging Visual Artists, and SAGE Projects, and was an original member of Nexus Gallery, as well as the founder and artistic director of Advocates for Public Art, LLC. He has curated exhibitions at Nexus Gallery, SAGE Projects, and Rowan University Art Gallery, among others. Robert’s furniture design work has been licensed to EuroPine, Ltd, and Roche Bobois, and his professional studio art practice continues to thrive alongside his evolving repertoire with work in inter-disciplinary art such as his recent venture into directing a collaborative dance adaptation of "Red Riding Hood” at the Neighborhood House in Philadelphia. Robert Solomon is an active member of The Painting Center, NYC. October, 2017. My artistic painting practice is rooted in process, materiality, and experimentation, and my paintings often cross the boundaries into (or spring out of) printmaking and photography methods. Over the years, I have found that while my interests and influences remain relatively consistent, it is the means through which my materials (such as but not limited to: water based emulsions, pigment, dye, modified plaster, stain, rope) function – both singularly and together – that keeps my work in a constant state of flux and evolution, which I find to be lively, freeing, and guided by intuition. Materiality guides me consciously, while my interests guide me subconsciously. Landscape, architecture, calligraphy, and pattern making are examples of influences which cause my paintings to oscillate between the organic and geometric. These dichotomies are the most consistent aspects of my work over time, but I don’t pursue them consciously. Instead, as I work, I experiment with materials both new and old to my process, I create rules which I inevitably break due to the nature of my materials. My recent work is gestural with the barest of preconceived subject matter. The diptych paintings use a format that encourages a heightened awareness of orientation and movement: the right and left sections must somehow be reconciled to my physical handedness. I believe technique is important but a secondary concern to the finished work, much like a director not getting in the way of the narrative, allowing the visual experience to be completed in the mind of the viewer.
