  • Architexas
    @architexas
    ARCHITEXAS - Architecture, Planning and Historic Preservation, Inc. offers full preservation architecture services and specialized historic preservation consulting services out of offices in Dallas and Austin, Texas. The firm was established in 1978 by founding Principals Gary Skotnicki and Craig Melde, both of whom started their career with the City of Dallas in the Planning and Urban Design division. Out of this interest in urbanism, city planning, and good design, the firm became involved in historic preservation projects that included loft conversions and additions to historic houses. The practice soon expanded to larger scale and more public projects like the Sammons Center for the Arts, the Inwood Lounge and later, multiple projects for the City of Grapevine that helped to transform that city into the destination it is today. Projects such as the Sixth Floor Museum Visitor Center Expansion, the restoration of the Tower Building at Fair Park and many historic county courthouse restoration projects have kept the firm in the forefront of historic preservation in the state. ARCHITEXAS continues to expand and improve the architectural and highly specialized historic preservation services that started the firm over 30 years ago. Today, the firm provides architectural, planning, and a wide range of historic preservation services to clients that include both the public and private-sector.
