Kellogg spent five years working on the house, and the structure was completed in 1993.

With original steel-framed windows, beamed ceilings, warm wood-paneled walls, and a gracious floor plan it makes for a wonderful entertaining space.

“The dogtooth wall has a dynamic quality that a lot of people have a really wonderful reaction to,” notes architect and resident Giles Bruce.

Marcus Lee and Rachel Hart’s wonderful wooden home sits at the end of a quiet London lane and politely turns its back on the workshops next door.

An Eames lounge and ottoman hold court in the master bedroom upstairs. Plenty of natural light and a muted color scheme give the space a wonderfully light feel.

Inspired by industrial midcentury style and industrial Pop art, architect Janet Bloomberg very bravely set candy-colored cabinets against particleboard walls to create a wonderfully dramatic kitchen.

Under the extension of the A-frame is the dining area and a large sofa for gathering. According to Pablo, the family gathers there in all weather. "Listening to the rain on the roof and in the trees is a wonderful experience," he notes.

Spending more time this year at Casa MF, away from the city, has given Magdalena time to reflect on slowing down and living in a more rural way. “You can have a wonderful life here,” she says.

Here's a view of the main floor of the store, a spacious and airy atelier filled with all manner of wonderful things.

Throughout the day, light animates the limestone walls to various effects. “As the sun rotates around and is more oblique to the texture of the stone, it casts these wonderful shadows on it,” says Raike. “And you just get a real appreciation for the texture of the stone and the richness of the colors in it.”

The first Koto House features expansive glazing—a feature the company plans to roll out in all future homes. “The wonderful large framed and dramatic windows are particularly special as they take full advantage of the otherworldly views, light and wide Hebridean skies,” says Theo.

Our wonderful name and logo, created by egg communications in Seattle, to me is as good as anything created by Madison Avenue.

“The pink color scheme was something that Dagny and I started the design process with,” says Margit. “We wanted a warm, natural color, so we decided to use pink Claystone on the floor. The other pink colors followed. It also makes a wonderful contrast to all the green leaves in summer.” The glass pendants are from Jotex.

A rotating fireplace, a glazed facade, and a cozy sauna complete this wonderful woodland retreat.

Contemporary materials like concrete and steel are a wonderful contrast to the ancient stone walls.

The bat bricks are by Ibstock Brick. “They have a wonderful range of eco-habitat products that integrate seamlessly into buildings without affecting the integrity of the construction,” explains architect Helena Rivera. “It ensures the bats are warm and safe from predators, like cats, whilst also keeping them away from nesting inside the house.

Thanks to its natural color, concrete also serves as a wonderful “blank canvas” for landscaping.

There are eight outdoor spaces, or yards, of different sizes, which gives rise to the name of the house. This small courtyard is located off the dining room, and helps to connect the interior to the outdoors. "The selection of reclaimed brick has given this house a coherence that meshes perfectly with the focus on nature of the eight outdoor yards, and the cream paint contrasts wonderfully with the green planting throughout,

The warm, rustic, original timber frame provides wonderful contrast to these cool, muted shades.

The chair that caused all the fuss, the Rapson rocker was part of a line Rapson did for Knoll in 1945. It still looks wonderful today.

"This was the first time I'd ever worked with an interior designer," says Kroloff. "It was wonderful and terrifying: wonderful because she has a flawless eye that made every decision excellent, and terrifying because I realized that I could never do it with the same ease."

The house was fully assembled in just 32 working days. “It was a wonderful, emotional thing to be able to put ourselves in the shoes of our clients,” describes Meelena.

"Kasey and Nick brought their own voice through some of the specific interior finishes, such as the flooring in the mudroom and the wonderful wallpaper in the kids’ bathroom," explains Hutchison.

“The transparency of the house is really quite wonderful,” says Grace Kim of the residence, now open to the lake view.

The oak staircase, arched studded front door, and decorative floor tiles in the hallway have a wonderful handcrafted look.

Michael specified that the corner window be mullion-free so sitting in the nook feels like you are outside. "By being immersed on two sides without any real obstructions, you get a sense like you are out there in the natural world, in the yard," he says. "This is a particularly wonderful feeling, especially during our long, snowy Minnesota winters, where we can enjoy the beauty and stillness of the snow but still enjoy the warmth and comfort of being inside."
