The design was created using a mixture of water and gelatin with algae materials. Pigment is then placed on top of the surface. It’s critical that the pigment doesn’t sink to the bottom of the gelatin bath since the next step involves pressing coated papers against the pattern. The result is a print of the marbled texture. The original prints are cut up, uploaded, and then reconfigured digitally. Installing the wallpaper is done with panels that are double-cut and connected to create a seamless effect.

Many of owner Ben Kinmont's culinary craft projects are an extension of his work as an artist and dealer of antiquarian books about food and wine. Off the kitchen, Ben stores his inventory—faded spines lined up on long shelves and a tall cabinet where a few select objects are kept. Next to a gaping fireplace in the sitting area is the most prized and frequently used of his antique cooking implements, an 18th-century French tourne-broche à poids—a delightfully analog contraption for turning a spit over a flame. In the master bedroom, more shelves were installed to accommodate the book collection.

The architect designed and made most of the furniture for the house in the workshop in his garage, including the sofa, coffee table, kitchen lights (which were water-jet cut from a single piece of aluminium), and the speaker stack, which he based on the ramshackle piles of old stereo equipment commonly found in thrift store Hi-fi Corners.

WEATHER DIARY COLLECTION: OIVA COFFEE CUP $24.00 Part of the Weather Diary tableware collection, the Sääpäiväkirja coffee cup is inspired by the natural environments of Finland. Bitonti's studio frequently pushes the boundaries of additive manufacturing—the industry term for 3D printing—by collaborating with other designers and technology leaders. Bitonti designed these rainbow-hued shoes, part his "Mollecule" Shoe Collection, with the help of Adobe (for the necessary software) and Stratasys (for the necessary 3D printing technology).

2008's Woven Willow collection ties together artisanal fabrication methods and the centuries-old tradition of a table centerpiece. Scholten & Baijings revived the almost-extinct craft of wicker-weaving by combining the organic material with plastics and papier-mâché, then adding super-saturated color.

Launching concurrently, Citterio’s Axor Universal Accessories collection includes brackets, wall-mounted shelves, and accessories that can be custom-arranged and used in both the kitchen and bathroom.

Distinguished crystal manufacturer Saint-Louis charged three female designers (Paola Navone, Kiki Van Eijk, and Ioanna Vautrin) to design a lighting collection. The designers visited the Saint Louis archives to draw inspiration. Here, Kiki Van Eijk used a former mold to develop an interactive light that opens and closes to your desired brightness.

Designed by Renzo Piano, the Menil Collection contains some 17,000 works by a wide-array of 20th-century modernists, from Man Ray to Mark Rothko.

Eales tells us the Sealand products are headed to France and New Zealand in 2016, and that he has been working on designs for some hemp and cotton apparel.
