Although the majority of the book Congdon beautifully photographed herself, she’s an illustrator by profession. The rear of the house looks onto a lush backyard. The rough, industrial prefabricated concrete panels by the German manufacturer Syspro are the building blocks of the home.

A unit facing Natoma Street looks on to what was once housing for the area's factory workers.

Floor-to-ceiling pivot doors and flushed skirting make the boxy space appear much higher and larger.

There are ping-pong tables, and then there is the You and Me Ping-Pong Table from RS Barcelona. This finely crafted table is a departure from typical ping-pong tables—it is made of steel and high density HPL, and is supported by elegant iroko wood legs. For indoor and outdoor use, this ping-pong table is as much an elegant furnishing as it is a game.

Formerly an office building with a dark basement, the structure—reminiscent of the Flatiron building in New York—was updated with a curved window on the street level, as well as a perforated white acrylic panel that allows light to enter the house.
