According to the Coca-Cola company, Loewy did not redesign the contoured bottle created by the Root Glass Company in 1915, which he called "the most perfect ‘fluid wrapper’ of the day and one of the classics in packaging history." He did, however, rework different versions of the bottle, as well as retool a variety of packing and promotional material for the soft drink giant, including soda fountains, coolers and delivery trucks.

This simple plastic-and-aluminum bottle rack, designed with a small footprint and made to be easily stacked, is about as straightforward and crowd-pleasing as a bottle of good cheap merlot.

Here's the cafe space, which is set off to the side of the building. The kiln (currently under construction) will be behind the bank of windows in the background. We love how the building hosts a multitude of uses: a social space for the neighborhood, retail, and manufacturing. It's also two local businesses supporting each other—a customer might come in for a coffee and come out with a new place setting, and vice versa.

Rubén Núñez's glass vase from 1958 features a soft rainbow of colors that wouldn't be out of place with today's iridescent designs.

Foreign designers were also featured prominently at DesignMarch. Finnish ceramics brand Maari showcased vases made from the raku pottery firing technique, which creates unique patterns. The Koivu vase, which is 26 cm tall, resembles birch wood. The brand also offers decorative raku eggs and bark tiles.

Pictured is one of Stout’s three-dimensional braided rugs and a pinched clay hanging light made with Sean Gerstley. Stout has also created a number of digitally printed curtains in collaboration with Kate Fox. “I want my work to make people happy,” she says.

"We don't have any specific rituals for entertaining, it changes each time depending on the party and the people. Music's always very important as a way to get people to relax and be in the moment. Of course there's always a good glass of wine, great food and flowers, and a few pieces of Dinosaur Designs to add color to the table,” says Ormandy.
