Shown with the simple Drop cap Pendant, the Plumen 001 is the original energy-saving bulb from Plumen. The bulb’s dynamic design mimics the filament found in incandescent bulbs, but its glass, sculptural silhouette makes the bulb look more elegant than traditional bulbs and standard CFLs. The Plumen 001 has a screw fitting that fits into any lamp that accommodates a standard screw bulb.

Intended for a much bigger room in the family’s previous home, the bed was designed by Hill and is covered in Maharam fabric in a doily print called Intricate 001 Charcoal. The side tables are from West Elm, and the AJ table lamp is by Arne Jacobsen for Louis Poulsen.

Earth House is dedicated to Dong-joo Yoon, a Korean poet who died as a political prisoner in Japan during WWII.

A domed copper light fixture by Atelier001 hangs above the dining table.

“My grandfather, George Fasullo, was an architect who died before I was born,” says architect Ryan Bollom. “My mom used both of our drawings as wallpaper in the secondary living space.” During the lockdown, Bollom formed an extended bubble with his parents, and he and his wife, also an architect, used the space as an office.

Balogh, who died in 2006, was a celebrated local architect. He was also credited for designing an estimated 150 structures throughout Michigan, Illinois, and Arizona.

The Plumen 001 Baby is the more compact version of the Plumen 001. The Baby’s 9-watt power is equivalent to a 40-watt incandescent in terms of illumination and it has a lifetime of eight years— typical incandescent bulbs last up to one year. CFLs tend to produce harsh light reminiscent of fluorescent lamps, while the Plumen 001 Baby diffuses warm white light.
