The architects removed decorative wood beams and wood paneling, and raised the ceiling to reveal a bright, open space. The existing fireplace mantle was swapped out for Bolection molding, a minimal-yet-traditional profile that allows more space for wall art. Hendricks installed the sconces and Noguchi lantern above the clients' wood table and chairs.

A tiny outbuilding offers a cozy living space inside a simple shell.

Translation, 2006-Edited and designed by the duo, this book was produced for the exhibition 'Translation' at the Palais de Tokyo in 2005, that showcased artworks from the Dakis Joannou Collection.

Collaborating with Stockholm-based fragrance house Byredo and renowned perfumer Jérôme Epinette, M/M concocted up the design for the M/Mink scent—an amalgam of notes that include solid ink, patchouli leaf, and adoxal.

One of the ways Suspenders can be arranged is in a Tri-Bar configuration. Hanging from a ceiling-mounted outlet box transformer is a 24" tri-bar that supports three 36” linear power bars, each with five LED luminaires.

Manz, recommends a 5 mm or 8 mm solid stainless steel countertop for a floating look. The floating look is made possible from a shadowed panel which is placed under the surface approximately 20 mm from the countertop edge.

For the cover of Björk's 2004 album Medúlla, Augustyniak and Amzalag designed the artwork and invented the constellation-like typography. Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin shot the songstress.

When Sonneman first designed Suspenders in 1989, it was made up of bulky transformers and halogen lights. By updating the technology, he has been able to reimagine the scale of the design while applying energy-efficient LED lights that generate almost no heat.

Lung Hagem Arkitekter said: "The roof is executed in 270mm thick reinforced concrete with 20mm VIP insulation underneath. The concrete itself is water resistant, thus no additional roofing materials are required. As a result, the roof is a smooth white surface creating a dialogue with the rocky landscape, and giving the cabin its distinctive character."

The interior walls, shelves and other fixtures were built using 19mm CLT and have been left with their natural spruce finish that will turn golden with exposure to the daylight.

A double-height space encompasses the kitchen, dining and living area, and features 36-feet-wide glass doors that pocket into southern and northern walls.

“For me, architecture is pragmatic yet joyful,” Andrew says. “The entrance cut away allows for a deep cantilevering overhang that gives shelter when it's raining, and the 1400mm-wide pivot door is pure theatrics.”

Marina Dragomirova studied graphic and interior design in her native Bulgaria before decamping for London, where she landed in the products-design program at the Royal College of Art and interned with luxury fashion brand Alexander McQueen.

The highly insulated home is fitted with triple-glazed windows throughout, as well as 150-mm-thick Celotex insulation.

Composed with transparent slabs placed at 350mm intervals, the Primitive Future House by Sou Fujimoto Architects explores the variety of spaces created by these layers. Using 350mm as the main unit of measurement, they recreated the height of chairs (350mm), the 700mm height of desks (350 x 2), and the 175mm height of stairs (350 / 2) in a house-like topography.
