I started as a sculptor, but I learned enough about craft to take on commissions and started making objects that were functional as well as aesthetic. Here, I’m working on a custom kitchen cabinet. It’s stainless steel and glass, and it has two curved doors that swing out on the sides. I’m fitting out the curved portions.

We spend a tremendous amount of time in the shop so that you don’t see the hand in the finished piece. What you have in the end is rather slick and impressive. The fine details make it the object that it is, and that’s all done by hand.
