If you’ve ever dreamed of living large like 12-time Grammy Award–winner John Legend and his partner, model and television personality Chrissy Teigen, now’s your chance—but it will come at a steep price. The Hollywood power couple are looking to part ways with their multilevel residence in Beverly Hills, California, after moving their famous family of four to a slightly larger home in 2020.

The 8,520-square-foot residence is tucked away on a large hillside lot just minutes from Rodeo Drive and the Beverly Hills Hotel. A gated entrance ensures ample privacy for residents at the remodeled Los Angeles estate, which was originally built in 1966.

John and Chrissy acquired the contemporary estate—which was formerly owned by singer-and-businesswoman Rihanna—in 2016 for $14,100,000. After revamping much of the interiors, the duo initially listed the property last fall for $23,950,000. However, the couple recently reduced their asking price by several million, and are now seeking $17,950,000 for the 8,520-square-foot home.

The entrance parlor features 33-foot ceilings and a curving staircase that leads to the second floor. An upper-level catwalk overlooks the primary gathering room, which houses the Grammy Award–winner’s grand piano.

Upon arrival, a lavish foyer leads to a grand parlor with 33-foot-tall ceilings and a sculptural staircase. An open-plan layout merges the entryway with the main level’s primary living room, where floor-to-ceiling windows capture picturesque views of the surrounding canyons.

Another large seating area is situated on the opposite end of a double-sided fireplace in the center of the main room. Just a few steps away, a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen features a large central island with waterfall-style marble countertops and custom wood cabinetry.

While the interiors were previously dressed in an all-white palette, the famous duo collaborated with interior designer Don Stewart to add layers of warmth, using Chrissy’s Southeast Asian heritage as inspiration. Inside the seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom residence, unique decorative touches include bespoke patterned ceilings from Thailand, clay and steel-rolled walls, and oak floors that were given a ceruse treatment (a technique that uses a lime wash to bring out the wood’s grain).

On one end of the double-sided fireplace in the main room, a smaller, more intimate living area features sliding glass doors that lead to the backyard pool.
