Case was established in 2006 and is the creation of British furniture pioneers Sheridan Coakley and Paul Newman. Sheridan Coakley is a well-known figure in British furniture design industry. He set up the furniture brand SCP twenty years ago, at a time when there were very few producers of modern furniture in Britain. He has been credited with launching the careers of design luminaries such as Matthew Hilton, Konstantin Grcic and Jasper Morrison. He has unrivalled experience of how to bring ideas from conception to production and is well known for the exacting nature of the design briefs he sets. Paul Newman has also been working in the furniture design industry for over twenty years. He started as a product designer, launching his first designs at the Salone de Mobile in 1988. The following year he opened his first retail store in London’s Notting Hill, Aero. In the following years Aero established itself and a retailer and manufacturer of fine quality design, supplying to the most renowned design retailers in Britain. More recently he formed the manufacturing company INK, which has also launched a series of successful designs to market. Newman is a well-respected expert in design, sourcing and advanced manufacturing techniques. Coakley and Newman’s collective understanding of the international market and of manufacturing techniques worldwide brings both competence and rigour to the Case brand. The 2006 and 2007 Case collections won international awards and Case are proud to launch the 2008 Case collection at the Salone Del Mobile 2008 in April.

Tage Klint, son of P.V. Jensen Klint, was the creative entrepreneur who in 1943 chose to turn the family’s artistically folded lamp shades into a regular business. He also added a crucial detail to the original shades; the unique “collar” at the top of the lamp, designed to fix the shade to the metal stand. Furthermore, he designed a number of lamps which have all been a part of LE KLINT’s assortment. In 1953 his son, Jan Klint, took over the company. As a business man, he was years ahead of his time. In order to secure his employees, he created a fund which has since 1972 been in charge of the company LE KLINT. In addition, the fund supports former employees, designers and architects.

His own career has included a wide range of clients: MoMA, Michael Kors, Mexx, Lionel, Cole Haan, architect Robert Stern for The 7th Art, luxury kitchen designer St. Charles, Fox & Fowle Architects, EYP Architects, Jonathan Taylor Design, designers Brad Ford and Carolyne Roehm for Fourtwonine Magazine to name a few. His work has appeared in Travel & Leisure, Vogue, Men’s Journal, Paper, Rob Report, ForbesLife Magazines as well as The New York Times. His series of architectural images, “Structures,” was reviewed by ARTnews contributor Barbara Pollack. He has exhibited in New York with Clic Gallery, Mary Gearhart Gallery and the Puffin Gallery. His work over the years has been recognized as some of the best work in photography by many of the industry’s most prestigious creative periodicals, including Communication Arts, Graphis and American Photography. Eric became a frequent supporter of Tibet House, donating his images to the annual Tibet House Annual Benefit Auction after a photographic trek through Tibet with singer/songwriter James Taylor. His work has been collected by fashion icon Donna Karan, Academy Award film director Robert Benton, pop artist Takashi Murakami, and super model Frederique van der Wal.
