From his website:
Andrew Moe's design education began at Princeton, where he minored in studio art. After apprenticing with a furnituremaker in Cambridge, Mass. several years later he enrolled full time in the Massachusetts College of Art. For two years he studied 3-D design, focusing on sculpture and furnituremaking.
In the years that followed, design dovetailed into dance and Andrew devoted himself to studying, teaching, and performing Argentine Tango throughout the US. In 2003 he moved back to New York City, dusted off his tools, and opened Moe Design Studio.
Suitable genes have helped along the way. As an immigrant from Norway, Andrew's great grandfather crafted wooden creameries in southern Minnesota. His father is an amateur builder and furnituremaker, and his brother was an architect, natural home builder, and furnituremaker.
