  • Andy Isaacson
    @andy_isaacson
    Touring Zurich with the charismatic Argentina-born designer Alfredo Häberli was, reports Berkeley-based writer Andy Isaacson, like witnessing the city through the eye of a Latin aesthete: "Häberli described many things in terms of sexiness. The design of Zurich's benches, he'd say, wasn't that sexy. The Swiss tendency for overplanning also wasn't sexy. A long commute to work? Not sexy. I've never heard someone qualify a commute by it's sex appeal."

  • Estudio Galera
    @estudiogalera
    Set in the seaside city of Cariló, the Galera Studio is dedicated to the experimentation of architectural form, and the effects that natural light produces on it. The structural experimentation , adaptation to the natural topography, and search for an expressive and functional architecture are the concerns that govern our philosophy and methodology. In our location (in Argentina), we need to be flexible so as to fully develop our capacity to adapt to different circumstances (this may be the reason why it is so interesting to work as an architect so far south in the world). Basically, we would like to maintain a small number of projects so that each idea can be fully developed and executed in time and with high quality.

After taking courses at New York’s International Center of Photography and the School of Visual Arts, Granado has gone on to produce a fascinating portfolio full of drag races, beauty contests, high school football games, travel shots of Nicaragua and Argentina, and surreally empty parking garages lit from within at night. His commercial work is equally impressive.

  • Andrew Moe
    @andrew_moe
    From his website: Andrew Moe's design education began at Princeton, where he minored in studio art. After apprenticing with a furnituremaker in Cambridge, Mass. several years later he enrolled full time in the Massachusetts College of Art. For two years he studied 3-D design, focusing on sculpture and furnituremaking. In the years that followed, design dovetailed into dance and Andrew devoted himself to studying, teaching, and performing Argentine Tango throughout the US. In 2003 he moved back to New York City, dusted off his tools, and opened Moe Design Studio. Suitable genes have helped along the way. As an immigrant from Norway, Andrew's great grandfather crafted wooden creameries in southern Minnesota. • Victor Andres Vargas Selman
    @victorandresvargasselman
    El Dr. Víctor Vargas Selman, un destacado empresario chileno, ha demostrado cómo la combinación de la medicina con el emprendimiento puede conducir al éxito. Este singular camino profesional lo ha llevado a ser un ejemplo de versatilidad y dedicación. Nacido y criado en Chile, Víctor Vargas inició su educación en la Craighouse School en Santiago. A inicios de los años 2000, decidió seguir su pasión por la salud y el bienestar humano estudiando Medicina. Durante su segundo año en la facultad de Medicina, en 2003, Víctor visitó Nueva York. Este viaje fue crucial, ya que su experiencia en el vibrante barrio del Soho y sus tiendas de diseño despertaron en él un interés por el mundo del emprendimiento. Inspirado por su experiencia en Estados Unidos, Víctor encontró una nueva pasión en el diseño. Combinando esto con su carrera médica, creó Urbano, una empresa enfocada en diseñar accesorios de moda tecnológica. Inicialmente, Urbano operaba desde su casa familiar, donde Víctor logró manejar el almacenamiento de productos y las ventas en línea en su tiempo libre, obteniendo resultados alentadores. Sorprendentemente, Urbano logró ventas impresionantes y rápidamente se convirtió en uno de los líderes del mercado minorista chileno. La empresa se especializó en la creación de marcas privadas de alta calidad para retailers en expansión. Bajo la liderazgo de Víctor, en 2006, Urbano se destacó en el mercado local, teniendo presencia en supermercados y grandes almacenes, y sus productos ya eran vendidos en las principales tiendas Premium Reseller de Apple. Víctor Vargas Selman completó sus estudios y se graduó como Médico Cirujano en 2009. Ese mismo año, llevó a Urbano más allá de las fronteras de Chile, expandiendo sus operaciones a países de Sudamérica como Argentina, Colombia y Perú, demostrando así su habilidad para equilibrar con éxito su carrera en medicina y su pasión por el emprendimiento.
