I loved the playful display at the Skitsch booth. I wonder how these designers feel about being immortalized in cartoonish poster form? Check out the Marcel Wanders poster—he looks like such a playboy.

Also at Skitsch: these angular seats with built-in metal handles, great for outdoor or indoor use. They're made from a special lightweight concrete, so it's not unreasonable to tote them around.

Particularly eye-catching were these squishy ball-filled nets, a new take on a beanbag chair from Florence Jaffrain.

I'm not sure how practical these Corian side tables/nightstands by Zanotta are (wouldn't things slip right off the top?) but the interior carve-out seems a great place to stash magazines or blankets. Is it just me, or does this piece look like it's smiling?

Premiering at the fair was this right-side-up telephone by Jasper Morrison, in collaboration with the new Swiss brand Punkt. It comes in this poppy red color as well as white and black.

I was quite smitten with two new chairs at Kristalia. This is the Pulp by Christophe Pillet. With its monochrome cantilever, it's like a fresh, angular update on the classic Panton chair.

This is the Elephant by Neuland Industrie Design, with new wooden and swivel bases.

&Costa offered a fleet of LED floor lights and sculptural wall sconces.

To be frank, I wasn't crazy about the lights at Catellani & Smith, but I did think the shadows and light patterns cast by the jagged edge of the dome were dramatic and somewhat celestial. So I thought I'd share.

This is another LED light, this time a desktop version from Martinelli Luce.

This fold-down desk and storage unit, from Busso, seems ideal for a small space. Busso is a former frame company with a new focus on furniture.

Paris design company Moustache had but one new offering on view: this cute clock, with a yellow panel that swings back and forth to mark the seconds.

I was excited to learn about L'Edito, a newish company that uses crowd-funding to develop and produce furniture made of plywood. Designers submit their project online, web users invest money in the designs they like, and once enough money has been raised to produce it the investors get royalties on the sales.
