The City would not accept a design where the front part of the house, shown in green, is physically disconnected from a back part of the house, shown in blue. It was acceptable for the garage and recreation room, shown in yellow, to be detached from the blue structure. We argued that the raised swimming pool deck, marked in red, which is physically attached to the green and blue structures, should constitute a sufficient “connection” between the front and back parts of the house.
