From the outside, the award-winning tower designed by Heller Manus Architects is iconic for its saw-tooth-patterned exoskeleton. The mixed-use building, completed in 2018, is now home to Facebook's headquarters in San Francisco. The nearly 7,000-square-foot penthouse offers four bedrooms, along with six and a half bathrooms. The gently curved interior, finished in Venetian plaster walls and Marie Antoinette flooring made of mitered stone, features sweeping 360-degree views from floor-to-ceiling windows in every room. Other architectural features include shadow gaps along the floor and ceiling, sliding glass walls by Rimadesio, and a through-view marble fireplace.

"The inspiration for the design concept was a combination of many factors," says Mary Ta, the co-designer of the interiors. "We looked to the evolution of San Francisco and the California way of living, integrating that into a high-rise environment by highlighting the panoramic views and bringing the palette of that view into the interiors," explains Mary Ta, the co-designer of the interiors.

"First of all, San Francisco’s traditional history is very prevalent—hence, we integrated the design with a respect towards traditional furniture aesthetics," continues Ta. "Next, we considered the dot-com technology and community which calls to mind an emotion of youth and the future. Finally, we looked at the metropolitan architecture, such as the famed Transamerica Building, which is the first view upon entering the residence, for a seamless continuity into several of the interior fixed furniture concepts, including the custom fireplace and the marble bar designs."

Also included in the sale are Italian furnishings, such a Minotti-filled family room, a bespoke Bottega Veneta study, along with other custom pieces by Henge and Lolli e Memmoli. Although there is no outdoor space to enjoy the cloud-level views, the building offers a wrap-around observation terrace, fitness center with yoga room, and other amenities for residents.
