Emily Nonko’s Saves

Here's the facade of the Flowerbox building. Its landscape designer, Mac Carbonell of Verdant Gardens Design, was outside answering questions. The building developer envisioned the “flowerboxes” after growing up in the neighborhood and seeing them outside East Village townhouses. The plants stay alive all year, changing colors throughout the seasons. The exterior design translates beautifully into the duplex apartment as well.
