Miami Bosch Kitchen: Active family simplifies with an open contemporary kitchen.
Client Profile
The Cielo family lives a fast pace life in Miami. The parents Alex and Judy work full time and are very involved in their kids’ (Amanda, age 5 and Will, age 8) already active schedules. Since both parents are employed in the Health Industry, fitness is part of everyday life for this family. They enjoy entertaining relatives from other countries for extended periods of time and celebrate their heritage by preparing family recipes together. The Cielos also travel to Europe, South America and the Islands to visit friends and relatives. Their travels have exposed them to many design influences and they are most comfortable in clean, contemporary environments, composed of elegant materials.
Challenge
The contemporary home the Cielos fell in love with deserved a new kitchen thatanswered their aesthetic and functional needs as well as addressed their lifestyle, which is always shifting. Their hectic calendar demands that their kitchen is convenient for preparing daily meals for whoever is home at dinnertime, family meals on the weekends and extended family get-togethers. During the week, simple meals are primarily prepared by one of the adults or brought in from a local restaurant, while over the weekend, the entire family makes cooking a group sport. When extended family and friends are in town, everyone has a task to complete making cooking a part of the party.
Solution
The Cielos needed a sophisticated and inviting space with plenty of workspace and appliances that balanced their aesthetic and functional demands. The solution starts with a contemporary mix of elegant walnut and Arizona tile split face travertine in an uncluttered juxtaposition of old world and high tech materials. Because of their advanced design and flush installation, the Bosch appliances fit well into this scheme.
