Cappellini Low Pad Chair
The Low Pad Armchair was developed by Jasper Morrison for the manufacturer Cappellini.
This Milanese company has placed itself at the forefront of Italian design with a range of stylish and sophisticated products. After attending the Royal College of Art in London, Jasper Morrison quickly established himself as one of the most high-vgbbprofile British designers of his generation, bringing his eye for elegant proportions to mobile phones and household gadgets as well as luxury brands. He is particularly known for his willingness to celebrate durable, mass-produced designs through exhibitions and books.
The absence of armrests gives the Low Pad Armchair from Cappellini a particularly slim, streamlined profile. Measuring 75cm in height, 57.5cm in width and with a seat height of 35cm, it is made from bent plywood and is constructed to provide the sitter with comfortable, flexible support. The seat is upholstered with three flat polyurethane foam pads covered in a choice of hard-wearing fabric or sleek, glossy leather. The resulting piece has a sculpted, segmented appearance which adds to its modernity. Meanwhile, legs of tubular stainless steel add the final touch to its trim, slender silhouette.
