Kettal Basket Chair Collection
In 1950, Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel created an unusual bowl-shaped seat out of wicker and oak and achieved a chair design that was applauded for being organic both in its form and its materials. Upon its initial release, the wicker chair inspired a rediscovery and exploration of the malleable properties of wicker and, consequently, a renewed status for wicker furniture in interior design. Today, Kettal offers both the original Basket chair as well as an edited version which allows for outdoor use. Created with craft materials and painstaking skill, the chair's rounded form and pure lines give a sensation of comfort and luxury.
