Fritz Hansen Minuscule Lounge Chair

When designer Cecilie Manz was growing up in the Odsherred region of Denmark, her parents immersed her in the world of art and design, which led her to begin her studies at the Danish School of Design in 1992. Fast-forward to 2012 when she designed the Minuscule furniture series for Fritz Hansen, consisting of a structured yet comfortable chair and a table that’s inspired by rounded beach pebbles. Referencing Arne Jacobsen’s curvy classics, Manz focused on how she could emphasize comfort without putting a limitation on the design’s expression. The lounge chair comes fully upholstered with 19 designer options of Remix fabric—which can be finished with or without hand-stitched leather piping. The delicate matte surface is made up of a reinforced plastic in a neutral gray tone.
