Brendan Ravenhill Long Pivot Chandelier
In Brendan Ravenhill's Pivot Family fixtures, they create "an ecosystem in which all the elements are interrelated, interdependent, perfectly balanced, without trimming or un-utilized parts" - to borrow from the painter Charley Harper, whose minimal realism always inspires. The geometry of the spun aluminum shade is designed to visually extend the lines of the steel arm and the cloth cord that hold each shade aloft. The machined collar is also a complex but essential component, providing an elegant transition from each shade to the more delicate lines of its supporting arm.
The long arm of their Long Pivot Chandelier is balanced by four shorter arms that drop down to create intimacy. This chandelier is the perfect fixture over long dining tables, where the effect is striking: adjustable shades float in space as the simple armature all but disappears.
