Boule Fruit Bowl

Seller: Gessato

This is the kind of fruit bowl you can leave empty on the countertop and it will look like a modern art piece. Designed by Adam + Harborth for the Siebensachen collection, the bowl is inspired by the ancient game of ‘boule’ which is still being played every summer evening in village squares throughout France. Players throw balls as closely as possible to a small wooden ball to win the game, and this dynamic action is beautifully captured in the bowl’s 13 interconnected oak spheres. You can join in the game and throw in an apple every morning (before eating it, of course) or create elaborate, eye-catching arrangements with multiple types of fruit.
