Anglepoise's 1227 Lamp has reached icon status in the realm of British designs. Invented in 1931 by a car designer in search of flexible, workplace lighting solutions, the 1227 Lamp won an adoring fan base early on thanks to its perfectly balanced weight and strikingly modern looks. Fast forward through decades of Anglepoise lamps dotting the discerningly-decorated homes and offices of creative types around the world, to 2003 — the year industrial design titan Sir Kenneth Grange took the helm of Anglepoise as its Design Director. His Type 75 Mini design for Anglepoise (pictured above) is a small and easy entry point for anyone looking to brighten up their space with world-class lighting.
