Afteroom Story Planter
Fascinated by how spaces transform over time, Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei invented the word Afteroom to name their Stockholm studio. "We simply want to create things people won’t get rid of," says Chen-Yen. In creating the Story Planter (2020), they brought a new twist to floral arrangements by accommodating plants and flowers in a vertical stack within a very compact footprint. "It was not an easy task, though it appears really simple," says Hung-Ming. "We hope people see it as a quiet, functional sculpture." All-metal construction and a heavy weighted base provide strength and stability. Bowls can be set facing forward or to the side. They do not have drainage holes. Made in Taiwan.
