At 8:20 p.m., Dwell Presents will invite Lee Broom to the stage. Broom is a British product designer who has over 50 designs to his name, from marble tube lights to delicate glassware. The winner of the British Designer of the Year award in 2012, he has also designed a number of interiors.

The fence is made from bamboo brooms. Why? “They’re cheap and ready-made,” Sugimoto said.

Lee Broom will show his new Optical lighting collection in a mobile installation—installed in the back of a truck. Catch it around town over the course of the week. It starts at Spazio Rossana Orlandi, Via Bandello Matteo 14, on April 12.

The punnily titled On The Rock collection of glassware further exemplifies Lee Broom’s seamless merging of mixed materials.

Brass Dustpan and Broom is a minimalist dustpan created by Sydney-based designer Studiokyss. With the idea between, decorative & functional and the ability to transcend both craft & design mediums, Kenny of Studiokyss is interested in creating work that has the ability to interact physically and emotionally with the users, essentially giving longevity to the object. The dustpan is constructed of Tassie oak, brass, and horse tail. A single brass notch extends from the dustpan to not only prevent slipping, but to hang the broom when not in use.

Broom stool by Philippe Starck for Emeco, $350 When we think of good design, manufacturing processes along with functionality and aesthetics factor high on our list. Broom is 75 percent waste polypropylene and 15 percent reclaimed wood shavings, and it is made in the USA. The back rises about a foot taller than the rounded seat, offering support. It comes in six colors and in bar and counter heights.

Lee Broom's marble Tube Light, from the designer's Nouveau Rebel collection, is now sold at The Future Perfect for $5,310. The handcrafted take on the old fluorescent tube is a technical marvel: it's milled from one piece of Carrara marble to less than a quarter-inch thickness, then filled with an LED strip that, when illuminated through the white marble, gives off a warm glow.

Lee Broom's Globe Light is an optical illusion: A seemingly solid half-sphere of Carrara marble is topped by a dome of lead crystal. An LED bulb glows upward through a thin marble top.

The space is maximized with exclusive transFORM features including a folding laundry valet to hang clothing. An omni wall track inside the feature cabinet allows you to hang brooms, mops, and dustpans inside the cabinet.

The Future Perfect, located at 55 Great Jones Street in the NoHo district of Manhattan, showcases the latest pieces from Lee Broom in its storefront windows.

Lee Broom's On The Rock collection pairs the weight of marble with the lightness of crystal. The coupes come in three versions: martini ($110), wine ($110), and champagne ($110).

Emeco collaborated with Phillipe Starck on the Broom chair, a design made from recycled materials that took home the Multiple Production award.

In Scarpa and Brook' own house, they’ve mounted luminous solar panels in a rusted-steel-beam grid to form a modernist canopy that frames the façade. This imaginative “solar umbrella” hides the household power plant in plain sight, part of an artful composition that includes a hanging screen tied with bristles of industrial brooms.

Previously, this quirky space had a pantry, broom closet, and doors leading to the basement. Now, this niche houses a butler's pantry with a custom dry bar, wine fridge, and storage cabinets awash in Farrow & Ball Studio Green with a Soapstone countertop.

The dining area features sliding glass doors by Fleetwood. Interior designer Toni Ambus paired a reclaimed sycamore table by Dekayu with Lea dining chairs by Roberto Barbieri for Zanotta. A Broom pendant by Brand van Egmond lights the room.
