“We kept the tones very neutral because we wanted the colors of the garden to come through,” Ong says. “Light also plays an important role here, and again the neutral tones help highlight the changes in the light and sky.” Ong’s team used Melbourne's Ajar Furniture and Design store to supply the home's furnishings, and this Marcel Breuer Club Chair Model B3 sits off the dining room.

The Ora Ceramic Wall Clock from Kähler blends charming rustic elements with an undeniably modern palette. The round wall clock is crafted in ceramic and features convex numbers that at times blend into the face of the clock, and at other times create subtle shadows when light falls on the clock. Finished in a matte black, the Ora Wall Clock is unobtrusive and adaptable to a variety of interior spaces, while the stark white plexiglass hands give a modern flourish to the piece.

Don't let its minimalism fool you: the Dandelion Clock hides a fun graphic display in plain sight. Instead of numerals, each hour mark "dandelion" adds another petal, from one to twelve.

Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen designed the Gateway Arch monument, completed in St. Louis in 1965 (it opened to the public in 1967). The world's largest arch, the iconic, 632-foot tall structure was built as a monument to westward expansion in the United States. Here, he's shown alongside models of the arch.

"It was rundown, dark, and divided," recalls Masaaki of his first impression of the warehouse, the ground floor of a multistory apartment building. But after some thought, Masaaki, a Japanese-born architect, and Esther, an artist from Minorca, realized that owning the combined 2,700 square feet would allow them to headquarter Mas-aqui, the architecture and design firm they were planning to start, on-site. They bought the property and within months transformed it into a bright, modern live/work space.

A paragon of reductive simplicity, the Wyzer Wall Clock eliminates the face all together, allowing any range of decorative moves or custom wall clock faces to be implemented around its hands.
