In the living room, Fred sits beneath Tom Wesselmann’s Claire’s Valentine Banner, from 1973. A George Nelson Yellow Marshmallow sofa from 1956 joins a Darrell Landrum coffee table, also from the 1950s, and a pair of Verner Panton Cone chairs.

The hall filled up quickly—over 200 exhibitors were set up and waiting.

Sedo Wall Sconce. Made of brushed aluminum and walnut, the Sedo is composed of three floating planes, all kept flat against the wall. This simple composition creatively hides the light engine from view and filters the light as it’s dispensed up and down the wall.

Vesper Wall Sconce. The Vesper is a very simple geometric sculpture composed of brushed aluminum, oiled black American walnut, and white polymer. The Vesper’s composition not only offers streaming light upward and downward, but also filters it toward the front of the fixture, where its three-dimensional depth can be fully admired.

Valeo Floor Lamp. Established in 2009 in Southern California, Cerno is an industrial design and manufacturing company that creates modern, energy-efficient lighting fixtures—all of which are made in the U.S.A.—for design-forward, conscientious consumers. Cerno is just one of the many innovative exhibitors that will be on hand at Dwell on Design Los Angeles next month.

Beside one of the building's original stained-glass windows, a handmade "church banner" by Shelby Rodeffer pays homage to Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Tammy Wynette.

A number of Modernism Week Vintage Trailer Show exhibitors use the event as a way to put their trailer on the market.

Ta-da! I sewed a couple buttons on and loosely crisscrossed the faux-suede between the two, but this is purely decorative. You can embellish these babies however you'd like—more buttons, embroidery, badges—and using a patterned fabric will also give a bit of a different feel.
