Jonas R. Stokke and Øystein Austad, who work in Oslo, Norway, under the name StokkeAustad, created this Dayboard calendar in order to give people more freedom to arrange the year as they see fit. Each individual date is affixed to the steel base with magnets, allowing users to move the days around.

The Timor Perpetual Desk Calendar was designed in 1967 by Enzo Mari, and has remained in production by Danese Milano since its launch. The cleverly designed calendar is designed for tabletop or desk placement, and includes rotating cards that include the date, month, and day of the week.

Composed of walnut, ramin, beech, and maple, this slim Danese Milano Bilanca Perpetual Calendar was designed by Enzo Mari in 1959. Like any good small living accessory, it does double duty: from afar, it looks like an abstract work of art.

Their products, like the calendar seen here, are mostly available in Argentine musuem shops and select stores, though they plan to expand to online sales in February.

Having found a 100-acre farm in Ontario featuring rolling corn fields, the residents asked architect Cindy Rendely to design a place that was "comfortable and modern and appropriate for the country." Finn Juhl designed the Poet Sofa for his own home in 1941. Inspired by the modern free art movement, which influenced much of Juhl’s designs, the sofa has a decidedly sculptural shape that rests on four walnut legs. Today, the sofa represents a part of Danish cultural history and modern furniture that exudes the values of craftsmanship, thoughtful design, supreme function, and aesthetic appeal.

At the top, the view from the roof deck reveals a patchwork of garages and yards surprisingly free of neighbors.

Rail-free stairs are unnerving for a first-time visitor, but they amplify the home's free-flowing sense of space and structure. The stairs were built inside one of the six concrete towers, and they lead from the central living space to the front door. The experience of moving from the enclosed stairway into the expansive open family area is dramatic.
