By combining a carefully chosen selection of items from Home Depot, Walmart, Target, Lowes, and IKEA with vintage and designer accessories, the couple have managed to infuse a variety of styles into the camper, while staying within their budget.

Designers Sara and Rich Combs of The Joshua Tree House brought The Assembly to life with a soothing neutral color scheme and quirky vintage furnishings and decor.
Thanks to the glass perforations connecting the first two levels of the home, the structure no longer suffers from a dark, gloomy interior. The team also incorporated a handmade steel staircase to link the ground floor to the basement.
“With a single contribution of natural light -- the windowed facade facing street -- the apartment is designed to be 'turned' towards this light, with its glass rooms. Elements holding the old garage function were kept as witnesses and graphic structures of the apartment,” says Pelcé.
The concrete ceilings and beams from the original garage were retained.

The living room features elegant wallpaper from Thibaut.
Custom white oak by Contempo Floor Coverings spreads across the floor in the open living area.  Malibu Market and Design supplied the metal coffee table, and the rug was picked up at Restoration Hardware.
Fashion designer Josie and her husband Ken Natori are big fans of traditional Japanese architecture, so when Brooklyn-based practice Tsao & McKown Architects designed their home in Pound Ridge, New York, they used a heavy, exposed-timber structure, and included Japanese-style gardens and landscaping.
Takeshi Nii’s Ny chair is paired with a Reese sofa and cherry Grove nightstand from Room & Board in the living room.
Paired with a lime rendered staircase, a gray Moreau sofa by Pinch and vintage yellow side tables offer bright contrast to the living room’s limestone walls and timber frame. The couple laid some 20,000 pieces of reclaimed oak to create the floor’s herringbone pattern.
The Bank Slimm sofa by local furniture purveyor Loods 5 is paired with pieces sourced from British retailers Made and Habitat in the second-floor living room.
In Barcelona renovation by Estudio VilaBlanch, cloisters dating from the 1600s were converted into a residence where hand-carved stone features like beltcourses, columns, and imposts for the vaults were left exposed.
In addition to the triplex’s first-floor movie room, there is a rooftop theater with a miniature golf course. A custom sofa and ottomans are upholstered in felted wool by Maharam.

The living room furniture includes  a Williams-Sonoma floor lamp  and a custom ottoman made by Prestige Furniture and upholstered in Romo fabric. The residents doubled the number of windows in the dimly lit house.

The home's original trey ceilings exude elegance, while sliding pocket doors create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection, leading to a spacious terrace and dining patio.
The 13-foot-wide sliding window provides abundant natural light year-round. The staircase was placed at the building's center to maximize openness and make space for the carport below. The blackboard is for the couple's young son, Takuma, to play with and practice writing.
A light-filled living room has been exquisitely reimagined with contemporary appeal. Sliding pocket doors open to a balcony revealing sweeping city views.
