The living room is anchored by a sofa and lounge chair, both by Børge Mogensen, as well as a Conoid bench by George Nakashima. An Isamu Noguchi pendant lamp casts a warm glow onto the Brasilia coffee table, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune for Swedese.
The architects designed around another component of their 345 table in the refurnished living room, adding a Ploum sofa and a pair of Elsa armchairs from Ligne Roset.
Floor-to-ceiling windows, complemented by a wood-burning stove from Jøtul, bring the outdoors in. “Movement throughout the house—down the hall, through a doorway, or across a room—is always toward a view of the outdoors, creating a connection between the inside and outside,” Hart says.
Hufft Projects designed the blackened steel “fireplace wall,” which includes a Lennox wood-burning stove and an entertainment center. The Vela sofa is by Room & Board, and the rug is composed of carpet tiles from FLOR.
A bonus room with a bar off the private, direct entrance from the three-car garage is ideal for an office, gym, or screening room.
Living room
A new skylight regulates the living room’s natural light. Ronan set up great contrasts in the space with the bone white walls and ceiling, black wall unit with built-in fireplace, and the crisply framed courtyard. The owners enhanced the space further with vibrant photography and furnishings.
The soaring great room features a large fireplace and elegant arched windows opening to the pool and ocean beyond.
