Tilt by German designer Tina Schmid is a morphing object, moving from a flat graphic on the wall to a three-dimensional object. With a simple movement, the image of the cube can be folded downward into a table, the cuboid as a valet on which garments can be hung. Both objects boast an ingenious system of rods with jointed nodes that can be rotated as needed.

Get meta with the Trophy hanger, a bike rack made of bike parts. Part art, part utility, this creation from Etsy seller Furniply lets you rest your bicycle atop some soft grip bike handlebars. Tomas Haeger and Tina Linde’s desire for simple weekend and summer living led STEG Arkitekter to design a multi-volume retreat for the couple on the island of Tjörn. Clad in locally sourced fir, the house perches on pillars directly atop boulders that mark the steep site. “The idea was a place for contemplation and recharging our batteries,” says Tomas.

A platform bed keeps things simple in the master bedroom. “We said that everything that could be made of wood should be—including the shower stall,” says Tomas.

8. Krummi hanger by Ingibjörg Hanna Bjarnadottir. "The Krummi is by Icelandic designer Ingibjörg Hanna Bjarnadottir. We have a couple of these in our bedroom, they're great for hanging up a sweater or displaying your newest piece of clothing, but they also look sculptural with nothing on them. In Iceland you can find these hanging in windows to keep birds from flying into them."

The 510 Cabin is one of Leggitt's designs, executed with the help of student apprentices.

The curved roof, a play off the hull of a ship, was inspired by a previous Atelier SAD home project in the Czech town of Liberec. Jerry Koza, along with engineer Tomas Kalhous and architect Adam Jirkal, spent years finding the right location and obtaining permissions. After the rigid approval process, they’re finally able to showcase the flexibility of the concept, which can range from a one-person dwelling to a family-sized float with a 1,076-square-foot floor plan and a 538-square-foot terrace.

Surface is a minimal collection of office organizers created by Switzerland-based designer Tomas Kral. Tomas Kral established his product design studio in 2008 in Lausanne, Switzerland. In the context of industrial production and research, Kral’s approach to design is characterized by a clear preoccupation for materials and processes. In glass, cork or ceramic, Tomas Kral work on various projects ranging from products to lighting, furniture and accessories. Surface is a series of office organizers based on architectural and geometric construction. The pieces are constructed of black MDF with white veneer.
