A collage of brightly colored, geometric volumes comprise the Ettore Sottsass–designed residence of Lesley Bailey and Adrian Olabuenaga, proprietors of jewelry and accessories company ACME Studio. Completed in 1997, this home is one of few private commissions designed by the Italian architect, who passed away in 2007.
The main entry to the east includes an outdoor kitchen and dining area, as well as an aviary for the owners' birds.

Dimster pierced the roof with a glass box topping the new central stair. To the right of the entrance is the transparent buffer between the facade and the kitchen, where an old courtyard once stood. “We wanted to keep the idea of the courtyard,” says Dimster. “The frosted panels are a distinct feature of the facade.”
