1930s style modernist influences can be seen in this studio flat, where a cabinet is used to separate the open plan living, sleeping and storage zones. Carefully selected loose furniture such as Stephen Kenn denim upholstered sofa and a midcentury chest by Charlotte Perriand expands the scale of the interior making it feel roomier than it’s actual size.
In the master bedroom, the gable roof and balcony foster the illusion of generous space. A free-standing wall divides the sleeping space from the bathroom.
Set atop a BoConcept bed, a graphic blanket by Pia Wallén for HAY punctuates the master bedroom. The sconces are by Robert Dudley Best for Bestlite.
Four bedrooms occupy the bottom level. The beds are by Modernica and a Womb chair by Eero Saarinen sits in the corner.
Across from it, a Murphy bed by Resource Furniture—lined with Camilla Meijer wallpaper and featuring a customized niche—allows the space to function as a guest room. An electric Velux skylight frames views of the original tin plates above. The architects chose to leave space between the top of the structure and the ceiling to maintain the rectangular proportions of the loft. “It reads right away,” Singer says of the volume. “It’s very satisfying.”
The master bedroom’s  custom bed has built-in storage. The lighting is by Workstead.
In the master bedroom, a pair of Artemide Tolomeo sconces bookend a Matchbox bed by Edwin Blue.
