The warmth of the natural materials
General contractor S Construction collaborated with Shively and Kokkino on the remodel. The colorful apartment pays homage to the midcentury building, a 1968 high-rise in the Edgewater neighborhood, but it also has a more subdued side. The master bedroom is an all-white sanctuary filled with houseplants. The Rudd International oak sideboard is a vintage piece from the 1970s.
A print of Enzo Mari’s La Mela e La Pera for Danese Milano hangs in the master bedroom. Delta lamps by Robert Abbey sit atop bedside tables from Rams’s 606 shelving system for Vitsœ.
The master bedroom and main den replicate the living room's warmth, comfort, and understatedness, while the kitchen is characterized by solid elegance.

Like the built-in bed, nightstands, headboard, and other custom furniture, the staircase leading to the open-air viewing platform was made by Versfeld. The Lektor desk lamps are by Rubn.
