Adam Carolla designed and custom-built a loft bed for his son's bedroom.
The second bedroom, a later addition by Lautner, is roomier than the first.
The current owner added hardwood floors and repainted the walls a luminous white. Pictured is a secondary bedroom with a cupola and gas fireplace.

Steel was chosen for the frame of the cabin because of its fire and water resistant qualities.

The bed is flanked by two staircases, one of which is hidden behind a white curtain. Hidden storage is integrated into the stair design.
Oh My Wall Paris Wallpaper was placed on wardrobe doors with the shelves painted off-black from Farrow & Ball.
The hideaway bed tucks neatly into the storage unit.
A hideaway bed in the guest room allows this space to also be used as an office. Sangaré’s UNITÉ lighting hangs above.
The living area is appointed with small, efficient furnishings, including a rolling tray table by Hans Bolling and a Diplomat Sleeper Sofa by Blu Dot (a second one is situated opposite the Murphy bed).
Reflecting the client and what is most important to them:  a calm, refined composition that belies its more complex nature – perfectly suited to the writer in residence.

Guest Bedroom
The summit of Maungawhau (Mt Eden) can be seen from the master bedroom and the timber-decked terrace that occupies part of the ground-floor roof.
The highlight of this bedroom is ample built-in storage.

The third floor of 411 Vanderbilt features a fourth private bedroom with peaked ceilings, exposed beams, an en-suite bath and a beautiful round window.

The small sleeping loft integrates plaster niches for storage.
Jens Risom’s 1941 lounge chair for Knoll sits alongside custom-made cabinets in the Wilson’s master bedroom. Ken’s father, an archeologist, collected the pottery and wall hanging in the American southwest.
Situated in a built-in cabinet, a folding vanity in the master bedroom remains as it was when the home was built. “We knew that with some work, the house could be brought back to a clean and simple classic modern home,” Tyler says.
A third module, perpendicular to the main living areas, contains the master bedroom, which is furnished with a bed from Design Within Reach, a rug from Crate and Barrel, and a watercolor by Marfa artist Nick Terry. The saddle leather chair is by local furniture maker Garza Marfa.
A floating cabinet was created by Lustig in 1953 for an interior design commission in New Jersey. The Sparrow crib is by Oeuf.

The client, says architect Filipi Oliveira, “wanted everything to communicate without the need for doors in the internal environments.”
The guest quarters in the shipping container behind the main house is one of the Freeman's favorite places. "We just haven't figured out how to use it yet," he says. When Eli was younger and woke up earlier, either Freeman or Feldman would take him back here to play without waking the other parent. Now, it is predominantly used by out-of-town visitors and when the couple's parents come to stay. "The main house is such a social space that I worry about being misinterpreted as antisocial if I go to the guest quarters," Freeman says.

The pair painted the upstairs master bedroom white, and added a G55 sling chair and leather baskets from their recent design collections. The carpet is from a souk in Casablanca, and the bedcover is from Zara Home. Atop the vintage cup-board is an artwork by Vereecke’s father. Verheyden incorporated all-new woodwork of his design into the room.
