The sun-filled second story, which serves as the master bedroom and lounge, is pierced by a metal chimney. The Fusion bed by Zeitraum is flanked by nightstands by Robert Kuo and lamps by Cedric Hartman from the 1960s. A custom Moroccan rug covers the floor. A pair of refinished midcentury Danish chairs sit beside a Hans Wegner chest.
The sleeping loft can be accessed with a convenient retractable ladder with multiple grab-points that disappears into the ceiling when not in use.

The architects created a principle suite by connecting an adjacent bathroom via pocket doors. A skylight in the bathroom ensures natural light flows throughout.

The fitness room and the master bedroom lead out to a veranda, which the owners can use to access the pool.
Similar to the open spaces, the sleeping quarters have operable, sliding glass doors and clerestory windows allow the tropical air to freely pass between the exterior and interior.

Due to the lack of space, the couple have quickly learned to maximize every inch of storage space. For instance, Sheena uses vintage clips on the walls to stylishly hold papers and photographs.
