While the plush materials and earthy colors in the master bedroom emphasize the rich, wood tones in the room, our designer added curvilinear table lamps to soften the sharp furniture. The result is a masculine, yet comfortable bedroom.
Bright and bold choices continue with the master bedroom. The walls have been painted a rich blue T0.30.20 from Sikkens.
They also each feature a large closet.
The bedrooms and gallery spaces are located within the concrete boxes.
The master suite is located in a part of the house that was previously Holland’s studio.
In the principal bedroom, wallpaper from Hygge & West hovers over the George Nelson Thin Edge Bed from Design Within Reach. Horner also added multiple skylights throughout the house to bring in more light.
In the Baltic residence, renters can choose from a private studio or a co-living suite with several private bedrooms and a common space.
Reflecting the client and what is most important to them:  a calm, refined composition that belies its more complex nature – perfectly suited to the writer in residence.

The home already has a vivid color scheme, but to energize certain areas further, Bestor and Grunbaum added murals to some of the walls. Aside from the vinyl decals in the bathrooms, the stairwell is painted to evoke Grunbaum’s family home in the 1970s. Designer Mina Javid created a faux headboard for the master bedroom. minajavid.com

With a nod to 1700s designer Josiah Wedgwood’s jasperware pottery, this headboard is constructed with various moldings and a door. “It’s literal but he made it much larger and grander,” says Azzarito of the striking and unusual headboard. Fun fact: Josiah Wedgwood’s daughter was married to Charles Darwin.

External shutters and screens allow the homeowners to manage the sunlight and cross ventilation in certain rooms. Manos Mavridis, also of OLA Studio, explains, “There was a preference for the screens to be manually operated to minimize ongoing maintenance costs and encourage user engagement with their environment."

A COZY AND MODERN INDOOR-OUTDOOR BEDROOM IN BUENOS AIRES

In Argentinean architect and furniture designer Alejandro Sticotti's bedroom, dappled sunlight and reclaimed-wood floors and walls give the room a warm, peaceful feel.

Graphic cowhides on the guest bed, the dining chairs, and the living room floor unite the varying levels of the house. That design element—and the cute oil derrick lamp in the guest bedroom—remind you that, yes, you are in Texas. The drawings are by Erik’s brother Jair, an architect working in New York.

The furnishings reflect an eclectic mix of old and new. In a second-floor guest room, a bedside table by Fort Standard holds a vintage lamp.
“I love the master bedroom, with the geometry of the white-painted, angled roof lines and the varying shadows that this creates,” Dubbeldam says. The naturally lit space features built-in shelves and a floating desk that overlooks the street below through a tiny window. An aluminum Eames task chair and a Serge Mouille wall light adorn the space.
