A singular recessed light nestled in the white ceiling is all that’s needed in this expansive room with 270 degrees of floor-to-ceiling windows.

There are four bunks for the kids' sleeping area, fitted over the wheel wells, and a door separates the parents' bedroom at the back of the bus. The mattress is positioned over the engine, so it is high, and there is clothing storage below it, on either side of the bed, and in wall cabinets above. The couple writes on their blog: "Our bedroom has so much storage we haven't even used all of it!"
At night, the living-dining area converts into the primary bedroom.
When friends visit, the office is flipped into a sleeping space and sealed by a curved Hufcor accordion door. Seating cubes by LifeEdited can be rearranged to form a full- or queen-size bed. An Edyn garden sensor monitors the fig tree; the wall-mounted speaker is by Kanto.

A private master bedroom and ensuite were key to the renovation, and include as much natural light as the ground floor. Benjamin Moore's White Heron was used throughout the interiors to complement the light.

This bedroom has a king bed, blackout shades and a white noise machine for the lightest of sleepers to relax.
The second bedroom has a queen bed and private deck to enjoy.
The wall of windows and private deck extend this bedroom beyond the walls and has the best sunset views in the house.

This custom glass structure by Ilex Construction allows for an abundance of light during the day. At night, Lightolier fixtures on the ceiling illuminate the Ella bed. Sherwin-Williams “Pure White” was painted on all interior walls.
On the opposite side of the kitchen are two bunk beds that can be tucked away.

A glass-enclosed master suite is equipped with automatic shades and sliding glass doors to a large terrace that appears to float weightless over the lights of Los Angeles.

Inside, Metropolitan armchairs by B&B Italia and Artek stools flank a Morsø stove. The Flor rug tiles are arranged in a custom pattern.
The living area is appointed with small, efficient furnishings, including a rolling tray table by Hans Bolling and a Diplomat Sleeper Sofa by Blu Dot (a second one is situated opposite the Murphy bed).
Large windows draw daylight into the sleeping quarters, while providing beautiful views to the gardens.
Fuss-free aesthetics continue into the master bedroom, where a sloped roof with concrete paint hides the ceiling beam.

Three fireplaces were rebuilt, including  in the master bedroom. The flues were relined in stainless steel to make them operable.

Architect Michael Ferguson of SPACE International led the renovation of the 1950s bungalow, as well as the addition of a second floor, which he set back from the street to keep the home at scale with its neighboring structures.
