Tilt by German designer Tina Schmid is a morphing object, moving from a flat graphic on the wall to a three-dimensional object. With a simple movement, the image of the cube can be folded downward into a table, the cuboid as a valet on which garments can be hung. Both objects boast an ingenious system of rods with jointed nodes that can be rotated as needed.

Get meta with the Trophy hanger, a bike rack made of bike parts. Part art, part utility, this creation from Etsy seller Furniply lets you rest your bicycle atop some soft grip bike handlebars. 8. Krummi hanger by Ingibjörg Hanna Bjarnadottir. "The Krummi is by Icelandic designer Ingibjörg Hanna Bjarnadottir. We have a couple of these in our bedroom, they're great for hanging up a sweater or displaying your newest piece of clothing, but they also look sculptural with nothing on them. In Iceland you can find these hanging in windows to keep birds from flying into them."

The brightened space sports midcentury-inspired furniture. The arrow artwork lines up with the five targets near the entry to the ground-floor bedroom.

The eye-catching kitchen cabinets are made of recycled milk bottle tops, manufactured by Smile Plastics in Wales. On the wall, red arrows "pierce" the wall, a sculpture by Liam Fallon. Across the room, a McDonald’s M sits in the corner. "It’s a pop icon," says Mat.

Eight shipping containers were shifted and cut along a 45-degree angle, then combined in a fishbone pattern to create this arrow-shaped volume. The building, which was designed by New York–based firm LOT-EK, is raised almost 10 feet above the ground.
