Urban Oasis

This infill triplex was built on an urban site while preserving an existing 1800s Victorian duplex. The featured apartment was designed for a property owner's personal residence. The cornerstone of the design was a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass on the rear setback, creating a private garden oasis in a very urban setting. Gently finished wood and concrete create a contemporary feel with warmth and character. The full bathroom utilizes reclaimed redwood from an old water tank for walls & custom cabinetry to provide a dark counterpoint to the bright home. A rooftop deck provides additional garden space and ample sunlight throughout the year.
