The W1 London, the eagerly anticipated boutique development on Marylebone High Street, has been unveiled by Sir Peter Wood’s W-One International. Comprising 19 apartments - including three penthouses and five contemporary townhouses - the scheme will exude character and individuality, aided by the retention of the original 1930’s heritage façade to embrace Marylebone’s identity of individuality rather than conformity.
Designed by Dixon Jones Architects the development transforms the former BBC radio headquarters and will comprise a mix of two and three bedroom apartments, as well as a four-bedroom penthouse with separate studio apartment and two three-bedroom lateral sub penthouses. The four bedroom, three storey, townhouses will be nestled behind the high street and accessed via the secluded Beaumont Mews
Renowned interior architects, Darling Associates are responsible for the interior layouts and specification within the development. The penthouses will each boast a combination of East, South or Western facing terraces, which maximise London skyline views and provide residents with panoramic sights of the city’s most iconic landmarks. All apartments will benefit from spacious living spaces, dressing areas, separate utility rooms to maximise kitchen space as well as underfloor heating and air-conditioning. There will be an impeccable attention to detail throughout, including hand-selected marble in all the bathrooms sourced from Italy.
Classic design studio, Sophie Paterson Interiors, has been appointed for the interior furnishings and decoration. Each of the apartments will have beautifully considered powder rooms, with bespoke fitted vanity units, beautiful silk wallpaper and decorative lighting; the
bathrooms will boast exquisite marble to floors and walls, with some comprising his and her sinks and uniquely, his and her showers.
There will be a dedicated 24-hour concierge team on hand to assist with all requirements including tailoring services and restaurant and theatre bookings. Residents will also benefit from onsite secure underground car parking and cycle storage.
The W1 London has an unrivalled location on Marylebone High Street, renowned for its independent shops, specialist boutiques, cafés and contemporary art galleries. There is a multitude of Michelin starred eateries and fine dining establishments nearby, including Galvin Bistrot de Luxe, Roux at The Landau Restaurant and The Chiltern Firehouse.
