We wanted to bring in "some" natural light into the bathroom/shower area. This was tricky since the only source of natural light for the space is the full-lite door. What we decided to do was incorporate a one way mirror which allows light to pass, but maintains privacy.

The one way mirror also makes the small bathroom area feel larger than it actually is.

Artificial grass with an 8" drainage basin ensures that the walkway to the entrance stays dry even during typical torrential rains we get in south Florida.

We chose the pattern on the barn door because we wanted to guide the eye to the main living space when entering the loft.

This is originally the garage. I renovated it with the intention of having sweet man-cave to wrench on my motorcycles and watch movies with my brother and friends, and have a private spare bedroom when family came into town. When I sent my brother a picture of the renovation when it was almost done, he immediately called me and said "don't be an idiot, put it on Airbnb!" We've had success with Airbnb, and most importantly all of our guests mention that they can see the love that was put into the space. Everything was built, the only things that were bought were the two sofas and the rug.
