Nestled between trees and rocks on a 3 acre country estate, this home evokes the impression of being in a secluded treehouse. It’s clean, crisp lines prevent it from feeling like the rustic hideaway of childhood, but rather a contemporary haven to observe the natural world in.
The deep grey corregated metal siding, complemented by clear cedar cladding and fir posts and beamwork, combine to form an appealing exterior. The fireplaces are clad outside and in with concrete-look porcelain tiles, while the windows, garage door, soffits, and downspouts provide an architectural accent in black. The rainchains add a whimsical feel, and the natural wood stained band below the soffit and over the garage door offer a warm contrast. The materials chosen for the exterior finishes are low-maintenance, as is the natural approach to the landscaping which incorporates mostly native woodland species.
