Patano Studio Architecture just completed the award winning Reveley Classroom Building for the University of Idaho College of Natural Resources. The high-performance classroom building is located at their Pitkin Nursery facility two miles east of the main campus in Moscow.
Patano Studio was chosen for the project because of our high-performance design experience and our ability to develop and deliver a distinctive, low-energy use building on a limited budget.
The project utilizes Idaho Forest Products and is a working example of the variety of raw and engineered wood products that the state of Idaho produces. Additionally, the building is an international symbol for the College of Natural Resources, hosting events with partners from Spain, South Korea as well as within the state. Super insulated walls and roof and high efficiency heating result in a low-energy use building. The proper solar orientation and screening of window openings prevents unwanted solar gain.
