Portuguese dining table by Jose Espinho for Olaio factory and chairs from a hotel in Estoril. The vases over the dining table are old laboratory test-tubes bought in an antic shop at São Bento (Lisbon).
Following Maria's invitation Portuguese architect Martinho Pita designed a serie of blown glass lamps that hang from a structure projected by Ábaton from the roof.
Conceived as a concrete block in the middle of the house, the stairs receive natural daylight through the skylight on the roof, and night light through the blown glass lamps exclusively designed by Martinho Pita for myhomeinlisbon
Four windows frame the stunning views of Saint George Castle and Graça Church
Guests can enjoy the great views from the shower. The metal mirror was found at Q-Arte (Lisbon). The stone basin was designed by Ábaton and it was carved on the same stone as the floor.
Bringing the outside green areas inside the house was one of the focus of Ábaton architects.
The basin and the tiles on the shower were designed and produced by Maria Ulecia on her atelier. All the blankets were produced in Trinta, a little village close to Guarda, and she ordered also the colorful Cobertores de Papa woven on ancient looms.
The door to this room was covered with a viroc layer to keep it hidden from the outside. Also the viroc was used for the floors inside the room, keeping the concrete appearance not only on the ceilings but on the floors.
The white wall behind the bed divides the bath area from the bed area. The turquoise blue tiles on the shower and the basin were designed and produced by Maria Ulecia on her atelier and create the colour scheme for the bedroom
Every room has a small corner where you can sit and write or read or have breakfast. This room has a pair of vintage chairs from the old Café Imperio in Lisbon, and a beutiful table in wood and formica. The rug is a traditional Alentejo shepherd blanket.
A wall behind the bed divides the bathroom from bedroom and is used as a side table for the bed. The chesnut top was designed by Abaton and the ceramic basins were designed and produced by Maria on her atelier
The bed was placed right in front the 4 big windows with great views.
